Woods
Lumber is about uniqueness, each piece is one-of-a-kind; that's the beauty and privilege inherent to woodworking, especially when it employs exotic and hardwoods, with their infinite variations of color and pattern from species to species and from piece to piece.
As the damage to tropical forests in many cases has exceeded their conservation limits, it is getting progressively harder to find the hard and exotic woods that we want so, everytime we manage to acquire new, beautiful exotic/hardwoods, we treat each plank like a rare gem and then use it as if they were the last one available.
We feel that musicians, with our direct, physical, visual and aural contact with wood, are arguably its most sensitive "consumers". As luthiers, we are conscious that the very small amount of wood we use for our creations is used for a very soulful purpose: bringing the woods to new life through music while delighting the uncompromising musician with superior sound performance and beauty.
We are constantly searching and acquiring new pieces; some of the ones in the images were already used, some others are still available, and new ones are always up and coming. Nonethless, we only use top-grade, seasoned woods, and it will be our care to inform you about availability.
PLEASE NOTE:
we stock different quantities of each species, and availability will be affected by customers' request. Prices can vary based on rareness and quality grade.
Here is a selection of our exotic and hard woods for facings, fingerboards, and necks.
